Messe Magdeburg

The Messe Magdeburg (Magdeburg Exhibition Centre) was officially opened in 1999, on the occasion of the 25th German Federal Garden Show. Constructed from wood, steel and glass, the Messe’s modern architecture mirrors the simple style used by the famous Bauhaus architect Heinrich Tessenow. The exhibition centre is situated on the eastern side of the Elbe river, close to the city centre. It is easily and quickly accessible through use of the designated parking guidance system. The Messe Magdeburg grounds have an area of 12,000m2 and are home to two exhibition halls and a partially covered outdoor area, offering extremely modern technical equipment combined with the functionality provided by the versatile layout. Each hall has an area of 3000m2 and a standing capacity of 3500. Hall 2 is fitted with a modern curtain system which enables it to be divided into separate areas, making it suitable for a variety of possible individual or combined events, from exhibitions and conferences right through to rock and pop concerts, club nights and balls. Given its proximity to the 90 hectare large Elbauenpark, the Messe Magdeburg offers an attractive environment that is unique to Germany. Sanitary facilities and entrances are certified handicapped accessible.
