The EASD 2024 late-breaking Abstract Submission System is now open!
We welcome abstract submissions that contain novel and highly significant findings that were not available by the general submission deadline.
First notifications about acceptance or rejection of abstracts submitted before the general EASD 2024 submission deadline are out now. Please check your inbox or log in to MyEASD and go to the Scientific Submissions dashboard. Detailed notifications indicating date, time, presentation number, etc at the EASD Annual Meeting 2024, will be sent early June.

How to 'DiRECT' understanding of type 2 diabetes into a major advance in clinical care
Roy Taylor, Professor at the University of Newcastle and principal investigator of the DiRECT study, will share valuable insights on how large-scale clinical studies are developed and the impact they can have on diabetes research and clinical care.
Diabetes Community Pledge for the European Parliament Elections 2024
The European Diabetes Forum (EUDF) asks you to pledge your support for the 32 million people living with diabetes in the European Union and their families. Together, we can ensure people with diabetes in Europe live longer and more fulfilling lives, avoid preventable costs and strengthen the resilience and sustainability of health systems.
The Diabetes Community Pledge has been developed by a broad coalition of organisations working in the field of diabetes and supporting people with diabetes ahead of the June 2024 European parliamentary elections.
The Pledge contains 15 concrete policy recommendations addressed to the European Union and to Member States to improve the lives of People with Diabetes and those at risk.
Partnership on video series about diabetes
We are delighted to announce a partnership with Zinc Media Group to develop a video content series spotlighting ground-breaking research on diabetes management and prevention.
The series, titled ‘Beneath the Surface', aim to tell human-led stories that delve into Europe's diabetes crisis, shedding light on its origins, challenges, and potential remedies. It is scheduled to premiere on World Diabetes Day in November 2024 and will explore the surge in diabetes prevalence, preventive measures, and treatment avenues.

The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) was created by EASD to provide funding in all areas of diabetes research across the entire European Region. The aims of EFSD are to encourage and support groundbreaking diabetes research and to promote the next generation of leading diabetes researchers.
Diabetologia is the Journal of the EASD and publishes original clinical, translational and experimental research within the field of diabetes. We are interested in papers that convey new information or insight into any aspect of the condition, ranging from basic science to clinical applications.
